The recent news that the Westminster attack had been planned for some time through messaging app Whatsapp has shocked the world.

We use Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat – all of these publishers day in and day out; yet ought we to make a stand to encourage these huge publishing powerhouses to play their part in what is a threatened world?

I’m not saying we should stop using these channels, they offer a valuable marketing tool and communication base that helps keep the world turning- but surely there has to be a reporting infrastructure in place to help irradiate chances of these scary events happening?

Not only will this reassure the authorities but it could also help their own PR through building on their Corporate Social Responsibility strategy.

It’s time marketing was carries out responsibly; no more fake news. Real, content which is governed and published for the greater good.
